Friday's Faith - Heart Prints ~Angie Bennett Prince ~in memory of Merry Katherine Prince and her loving heart prints...

Friday's Faith

Heart Prints

~Angie Bennett Prince

in memory of

Merry Katherine Prince

and her loving heart prints...

My child has left her heart prints...

They're all over, inside my heart.

For though I cannot touch her,

We're never, ever, far apart.

She ever leaves her heart prints

Inside my grieving heart,

Not finger prints, but heart prints,

Reaching far deeper than grief's scars.

She is not far from me you see,

She's just beyond the Veil,

She ever hovers near me,

To rescue from Death's knell.

When deepest tears of mine do come,

I feel her presence near,

For when she sees by grief I'm bummed,

She smiles to lend her tender cheer.

She sees my heart is in a hole;

She rushes in with sweet console.

Her heart and soul so pure from sin,

She sees my need; she's ushered in ~

God lends her to watch over me;

She quickly comes and comforts me.

And though she hovers near me,

Her spirit I can't "see,"

Still, her sweetness I can sense...

As I'm showered by heavenly hints. . .

Her smile "appears," her joy, I sense ~

It keeps me from falling completely apart,

As she leaves her healing heart prints

Upon my broken heart.

Then suddenly. . .

My heart lifts up for all its worth

Filled with joy, like from her birth!

It seems whenever grief's deepest pain

O'ercomes, making me wince,

Her radiant smile pierces my pain,

Soothing my heart with her sweet heart prints!

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Somewhere Out There / Her Child-Like Grin

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Somewhere Out There

Her Child-Like Grin

God, please hold my baby girl tonight.

Give all my love to her, Mommy's delight,

her eyes beaming into Your gentle face.

Some day I'll get there with my own embrace...

Thank You for restoring her child-like heart,

For we're one-in-spirit though now apart.

Thank You for reminding me, "She's alive!"

She's safe in Your arms where her spirit can thrive.

The veil between us seems billowy thin

As her spirit slides through with her child-like grin!

Somewhere Out There

An American Tail

Somewhere out there

Beneath the pale moonlight,

Someone's thinking of me

And loving me tonight.

Somewhere out there

Someone's saying a prayer

That we'll find one another

In that big somewhere out there.

And even though I know

How very far apart we are,

It helps to think we might be

wishing on the same bright star.

And when the night wind starts

To sing a lonesome lullaby,

It helps to think we're sleeping

Underneath the same big sky.

Somewhere out there

If love can see us through,

Then we'll be together,

Somewhere out there

Out where dreams come true.

Tuesday's Trust - Heaven...Remains Closer Than We Know

Tuesday's Trust

Heaven...Remains Closer Than We Know...

Out beyond the silence of eternal night,

within the void of voiceless echoes,

between the folds of dark and light.

In somber streams of starlight.

In the waves of ebb and flow.

Heaven exceeds eternal planes.

Though, it remains closer then we know.

~John French

In John's words:

...Brandon passed away in August of 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition. The devastation of that one single moment has crushed our view of reality and cast us down into a state of perpetual winter. I’ve been writing all my life, though not publically. Brandon’s death has so overwhelmed me that I can no longer contain my thoughts.

Although my stance is undermined by despair, and frosted by the bitterness that follows the loss of my son, I will labor to plant some seeds of promise in the barren future that I'm so unexpectedly tilling.

Perhaps something beneficial will stem from my mourning. If you can gather even a grain of hope from my reaping, it may help to sustain you through your own emotional storm.

~John French

Thank you to John French for another of his inspired poems.

Readers feel free to click "Comment" below and make a comment or share something about your own grief. I love my readers and would love to get to know you better. (If however, you prefer to just read and glean what you can quietly in your grief, that is perfectly fine too. We care about you in your quiet grief as well! Trust me, I am there quite often.)

Monday's Mourning Ministry - I Believe, Help Thou My Unbelief! / Beyond the Veil

Lord, I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief!

I can't see through these tears

Beyond the Veil to Thee....

Beyond the Veil

Monday's Mourning Ministry

I Believe. Help Thou My Unbelief! / Beyond the Veil

It seems Bill Gaither is one of those saints who has walked alongside me through many years of my life... As a teenager, I remember teaching the seven-year-olds of our church (including my oldest nephew, Curt) in their Training Union Class on Sunday nights (like an evening Sunday School in the Baptist church) Gaither's wonderful song of,

I am a Promise; I am a Possibility!

I am a Promise with a capital P;

I am a great big bundle of Potentiality!

And I am learnin' to hear God's voice,

And I am tryin' to make the right choice:

I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be!

(See the full lyrics below.)

Later, as a young adult, when I had my own children, I taught them this wonderful song so that they too would each know,

"I am a Promise!"

And now, as a middle-aged adult, I am singing along with Gaither to his song,

"I believe; help Thou my unbelief..."

as I walk through this devastating, tormenting loss and grief over my baby girl while I still experience her death from this side of the Veil...

And so today, I bring you Gaither's poignant song, "I believe. Help Thou my unbelief!" and then I add a verse of my own just below his lyrics that can be sung along to the same tune...

Lord, I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief!

I can't see through these tears

Beyond the Veil to Thee....

I Believe, Help Thou My Unbelief!

written by Bill and Gloria Gaither

sung by Bill Gaither, Marshall Hall, & Guy Penrod

2008

from Gaither Vocal Band Reunion Volume 2

Lyrics

I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief

I take the finite risk

Of trusting like a child...

I believe

Help Thou my unbelief

I walk into the Unknown

Trusting all the while...

I long so much

to feel the warmth

Others seem to know;

Should I never feel a thing,

I claim Him even so...

I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief

I walk into the Unknown

Trusting all the while...

I walk into the Unknown

Trusting...

I long so much

to feel the warmth

Others seem to know

But should I never feel a thing

I claim Him even so

I believe

Help Thou my unbelief

I walk into the Unknown

Trusting all the while...

{My added lyrics}

Beyond the Veil

Lord, I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief!

I can't see through these tears

Beyond the Veil to Thee....

Lord, I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief!

My baby girl's with Thee—

Someday... You'll come for me!

I long so much

To feel Your touch

As You walk through Grief with me.

But even when my days grow dark,

I know You're...still with me!

Lord, I believe.

Help Thou my unbelief!

My baby girl's with Thee

Someday... You'll come for me!

My baby girl's with Thee

Someday...

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Lyrics for

I Am A Promise

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital “P”
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin’ to hear God’s voice
And I am tryin’ to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

I can go anywhere that He wants me to go
I can be anything He wants me to be
I can climb the high mountains
I can cross the wide sea
I’m a great big promise you see!

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital “P”
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin’ to hear God’s voice
And I am tryin’ to make the right choice
I’m a promise to be anything God wants me to be
Anything God wants me to be!

I am a Promise...

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring—not only to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—not only to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed

the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as deadsince he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah's womb was also dead.

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.

This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."
