Tuesday's Trust - When Fulfilled Love Unfurls…

Tuesday's Trust

When Fulfilled Love Unfurls…

O Father, release Your light into my heart
For all seems dark since we've been apart..
Stark sadness overwhelms this weary heart...
But Your Gladness cheers as Your Love imparts

Strength to this soul, from inside out,
Clearing my vision, ridding my doubt…
Reminding me she is… There… with You,
With nothing tainting her earthly view~~~

For she looks down, but sees not only me
Steeped in sadness, but still resting... in Thee…

You alone will heal this soul
When Your Light o'ertakes the Darkness of this
empty hole
Where my child once filled this mommy's world,

Lord, how I miss my baby girl…

Thank You that she's safe… There… with You
Please give me Lord Your Heavenly view…
Where One Day I'll fly into her arms
Filled with Joy, not earthly alarms,

Joy... resurrected by Your own blood
Shed for me and my sweet baby girl
Then once again my tears will flood
But this time because Joy, fulfilled Love unfurls…

Friday's Faith - We Go to Clean Your Room Today

Friday's Faith
We Go to Clean Your Room Today

We go to clean your room today;
The unpleasant task, it must be done ~
(We must make room~Mother's furniture is on its way.)
So why do I wonder that my heart now weighs a ton ~
For, we both fear, as we clean along the way
Echoes of Silence will leave us quite undone...

{To tackle a major project of this kind,
I must go before the Lord to get His perspective ~
(Mine is entrapped within my broken heart.)}

And this is His response:

Set up your world to serve the Unseen in Heaven,
Your child is not absent, she's even more present
As she now can come to you in spirit form!

Be sure that the bread you "eat" is unleavened
That it may go with you into the Heavenly land.
There is much work to do ahead
You do not serve your purposes, but Mine instead,

For it is My Kingdom come, My Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven --
Take your eyes off of the temporary,
Let My Spirit flow through you to bring hope to your dread,
For your child is among the living; she is not among the dead!

Background Scripture and Commentary:

Luke 20:38 ASV
Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

~~~
Matthew 22:32 (New International Version)
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living,.... See Gill on Matthew 22:32.
for all live unto him. The Persic version, reads, "all these live unto him"; namely, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for though they are dead to men, they are not to God; their souls live with him, and their bodies will be raised by him: he reckons of them, as if they were now alive, for he quickens the dead, and calls things that are not, as though they were; and this is the case of all the saints that are dead, as well as of those patriarchs. The Ethiopic reads, "all live with him"; as the souls of all departed saints do....
For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all {i} live unto him.
(i) That is, before him: a saying to take note of, for the godly do not die, though they die here on earth.
22:32 I am the God of Abraham. See Ex 3:6. God does not say, I was, but I 'am' the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. The present tense shows that he is still the God of the departed patriarchs, and that they are still in existence.
God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Queen Victoria is not the queen of Bacon, Shakespeare and Ben Jonson, but only of her living subjects. The Savior teaches that the soul is resurrected when it leaves the body, and that there is no unconscious state between death and the final resurrection of the body.
Acts 7:30-32
“After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai. When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to look more closely, he heard the Lord’s voice: ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.
I am the God of Abraham - Let it be observed, that Abraham was dead upwards of 300 years before these words were spoken to Moses: yet still God calls himself the God of Abraham, etc. Now Christ properly observes that God is not the God of the dead, (that word being equal, in the sense of the Sadducees, to an eternal annihilation), but of the living; it therefore follows that, if he be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, these are not dead, but alive; alive with God, though they had ceased, for some hundreds of years, to exist among mortals. We may see, from this, that our Lord combats and confutes another opinion of the Sadducees, viz. that there is neither angel nor spirit; by showing that the soul is not only immortal, but lives with God, even while the body is detained in the dust of the earth, which body is afterwards to be raised to life, and united with its soul by the miraculous power of God....
Friday's Faith - Not Worthy to Be Compared... / Poem - What Is Beyond Compare...
Friday's Faith
Not Worthy to Be Compared...
~
Poem - What Is Beyond Compare...
This week, I was in a terrible funk when I read the following devotional by the late Amy Carmichael, missionary for many years to India. The devotional truths lifted my sunken spirits and inspired me to write the poem that follows:
Romans 8:18 Not worthy to be compared.
Settle this in your minds so that you will not have to settle it again; there is no promise of ease for any soldier on any field. Search the New Testament; you will not find one such promise. It is made quite clear that things are not going to be made easy. So to be surprised and troubled when they are difficult is foolish and unreasonable too. Why is there so much inward stress, sometimes sharp trial, or what the New Testament calls Tribulation? We are not told; but we are told that there will be this sort of thing, and that it is "not worthy to be compared with the glory" ---not worthy to be compared.
~Amy Carmichael
What Is Beyond Compare...
I'm not told why my child
Was caught in Lion's snare,
Nor am I told just why I've
Been thrown in Lion's lair.
I am told...
"They're not worthy to be compared...!"
But By Faith, I'm called to see
What is beyond compare...
That which is kept for me
Within my Father's care!
I catch a glimpse into the skies
And see my child smiling there,
Look into my Lord's loving eyes,
And know what's beyond compare...
So today, I'll bear my cross,
Suff'ring terrible loss,
Crying out my heart's prayer
Till I'm held in His arms There...
I'm not told why my child
Was caught in Lion's snare,
Nor am I told just why I've
Been thrown in Lion's lair.
But I am told...
"They're not worthy to be compared...!"
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Friday's Faith - CALLED BY GOD or... Killing my Assumptive Beliefs
Friday's Faith
CALLED BY GOD or...
Killing my Assumptive Beliefs
How many of us, when we think we're
CALLED
by God,
think we will
be
called to a
?
At that despicable thought, I am appalled!
NO! A God of LOVE COULDN'T LEAVE ME ON A CROSS!
NOR WOULD HE LEAVE ME TO SUFFER CHILD-LOSS!
All my dreams, hopes, and aspirations
of what
I
could bring to His kingdom...
PAIN, SUFFERING, OR LOSS
didn't cross
my imagination!
...So
was I looking for...
MY
kingdom
to come?
God forgive me that I cannot see
The joy for the pain,
the hope for the despair,
The end
for the
ugly beginning
or
middle...
I am not God...
Dare I decide what is fair?!
Forgive me for not hearing You when You asked,
Will you take up your cross, and follow Me?
You are not to seek to be first, but last...
Will you go to your death if I ask it of thee?
Forgive me, Lord for being
So short-sighted,
So disillusioned,
So misguided...
Help me to keep my eyes upon You,
where You'll teach me to have Your Heavenly view!
Would a God of Love leave His Son on a CROSS?
Why am I surprised
I
must suffer
From that time on Jesus began to explain to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke Him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
Jesus turned and said to Peter,
"Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
Then Jesus said to his disciples,
"If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it."
Friday's Faith- My Psalm: On My Knees
Friday's Faith
My Psalm:
On My Knees
On my knees before You Lord, I am weak.
I feel Your presence with me, and I cry,
As You draw near me and bid my heart speak,
For You long to hear me -- I don't know why.
But when to my heart, You hear and attend,
I catch a glimpse of what I mean to You,
And with that glimpse, my heart begins to mend
______As You show a glimpse of Your Heavenly view...
I see on that hill what Jesus did for me...
I see Him carry my baby safely Home...
There's nothing more important to me
Than from Your side, Your lamb did not too-far roam!
Seeing Your heart of love poured out for me,
I pour my heart's burdens all out to Thee...
Though I don't understand all of Your ways,
I see Your heart's love and pour out my praise.
May my life be a reflection of You
That others may see Your heart's love for them too.
