Friday's Faith
Wish I Could Hold You Near~
Talking with my baby girl in Heaven at bedtime...
"How we long to be known to one another..."
And Baby Girl, Mommy loved to know you~
It is a joy~and was~to be your mother
And what a joy to know we'll share a Heav'nly view.
For now I know – only in part– but Then~
I'll know fully e'en as I've been fully known.
And now faith, hope, and love abide~these 3~but Then
The greatest of these – love– will be fully shown!
As you know, I miss you and wish you were here~
And yet~I know you're completely at peace There.
I guess I just wish I could hold you near...
But you oft remind me~now~we can, our spirits share!

Come to me my child~draw near by spirit,
Let your mommy hold you close beside...
That would make me happy to have you near me~
Though~at just the thought of it~I just cried.
Baby, I saw both your brothers today.
It was so sweet to get to hold them near.
We told funny stories of things you'd say;
When we shared your antics, it's like you were here...
So now Baby Girl, I'll go rest and pray
And I'd truly love it if you would curl up near...

P.S. I had a nightmare about you night
before last. I was walking on tiptoe
to not upset you so
you would stay...
I awakened in my agonized state.
I am relieved that your and my spirits
are both at peace with one another today~
I wouldn't have that part of us change in any way!
I am finding God's sweet treasures in grief's darkness~
it makes grief's gloom fill with light :0)
(and it reminds me~I'm to see now~looking with faith's sight)~
So now I'll go and hug you, and my pillow tight!
Night Night!

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

Tsunami of Tears
~
Fighting Grief's Storms
Soon to approach three-and-three-quarters-years...
Was today the first day I shed no tears?
At th' same time I feel you're more and more near...
{I could not bear it if your spirit weren't here!}
(There IS a cloud of witnesses~(about that) God's clear!)
Perhaps new normal's beginning t' appear...
But now...I remember...your birthday's near...
Grief's tsunami of tears to come, I fear...
(I remind myself:)
Little lamb lost? You are lost no more!
Our Savior warned and wooed and drew you in.
He had already died to settle the score,
washing you in His Lamb's blood, cleansed from sin.
"This child of mine was dead and is alive again!
She was lost but has now been found!"
The angels rejoice with a joyful sound!
This mother's heart's seared, yet warmed within:
You left my gate--God opened His--welcomed you in.
But even though you now bask in God's arms,
You fly to me when tears sound their alarms!
{I cry now, thinking of your tenderness to me
(when) you attend my heart with sweet sensitivity...}
My tears melt as your presence my heart warms,
~God's wondrous provision to fight Grief's storms...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
~Hebrews 12:1
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
The son said to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son."
But the father said to his servants,
"Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate.
"For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."
So they began to celebrate.
~Jesus, describing the Heavenly Father's love for His children, wandering though we may have been... ~Luke 15:20-24
Poem - Tsunami of Tears~Fighting Grief's Storms - Angie Bennett Prince 2/28/10

The Heavy Presence of Your Absence
The emptiness from your absence fills the vapid room;
The Great Void o’ertakes silence like the sonic boom...
Though no one speaks it, your absence brings such gloom;
Yes, your spirit’s in Heaven, though your body’s in the tomb…
How do we celebrate Christmas...when our baby’s left our “womb”?
The Heavy Presence of Your Absence sucks air from the room,
Sapping life-giving air from each person in the room,
Filling hearts with dread, sealing each of us with doom.
The heavy presence of your absence within our room does loom…

And yet the spirit of your presence fills the air like sweet perfume
So despite death’s cold of snow, out peeks the spring thaw’s bloom…
