Monday's Mourning Ministry
Tears Will Never Stain
On May 11, 2008, Dottie Rambo was killed in a bus accident on the way to Texas for a Mother's Day show. She wrote many Gospel and Christian songs recorded and covered by many artists.
She sang with The Rambos on the album Gospel Music Association's Top Ten for 1976. This song is "Tears Will Never Stain the Streets Of That City". Now Dottie herself is walking on those streets of gold that she sings about here.
Tears Will Never Stain
By Dottie Rambo and The Crabb Family
Lyrics
If I could count all the tears that have fallen,
They would seem like an ocean to me.
And if my heart were a window that you could look through,
Oh, the pain and scars you would see!
Chorus
But tears will never stain the streets of that city,
No wreaths of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren’t welcome beyond the gates of glory
For the heart will never break anymore.
I question the loss of a loved one
'Cause the grave seems so final and cold.
Oh, but we'll meet again where death has no vict'ry
In a land where we'll never grow old.
Tears will never stain the streets of that city,
No wreaths of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren’t welcome beyond the gates of glory,
For the heart will never break anymore!
Well I’ve never met one man without sorrow,
Never looked into eyes with no pain,
But I know a land where Grief is a total stranger,
And songs of joy are the only songs we're gonna sing!
You see, tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreaths of death on my mansion door
Teardrops aren’t welcome beyond the gates of glory
'Cause the heart will never break anymore!
'Cause the heart will never break anymore!
