Monday's Mourning Ministry - Does Jesus Care?

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." ~Psalm 34:18, New Living Translation:

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Does Jesus Care?

~George Beverley Shea and Guy Penrod

We are bereaved.

We are broken.

We are inconsolable.

We are like Rachel

weeping for her children...

and

refusing

to

be

comforted.*

(Jeremiah 31:15 NASB)

We are like Hagar in the wilderness:

"Do You see me God?

Do You see me

in this

wilderness of despair

with

no
hope

apart

from

You?"

(Genesis 16:13)*

In the brokenness of our hearts,

we wonder

if God sees,

if God hears,

if God has forgotten,

if God has abandoned us?

We ask ourselves,

Does God really care about me?

Does Jesus care?

And God says to us
as He
said
to
Hagar

for the Lord Has heard your painful groans...

Genesis 16:11 (Net Bible)

Does Jesus Care?

~George Beverley Shea and Guy Penrod

  1. Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
    Too deeply for mirth or song,
    As the burdens press, and the cares distress,
    And the way grows weary and long?
    • Refrain:
      Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
      His heart is touched with my grief;
      When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
      I know my Savior cares.

  2. Does Jesus care when my way is dark
    With a nameless dread and fear?
    As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
    Does He care enough to be near?
  3. Refrain:
    Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
    His heart is touched with my grief;
    When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
    I know my Savior cares.

  4. Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
    To resist some temptation strong;
    When for my deep grief there is no relief,
    Though my tears flow all the night long?
  5. Refrain:
    Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
    His heart is touched with my grief;
    When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
    I know my Savior cares.

  6. Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye”
    To the dearest on earth to me,
    And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks—
    Is it aught to Him? Does He see?
  7. Refrain:
    Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
    His heart is touched with my grief;
    When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
    I know my Savior cares.
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Tuesday's Trust ~ Amidst our Raging Storm...

Tuesday's Trust

Amidst our Raging Storm...

"Let (us) praise Him with dancing and make music to Him..."

~Psalm 149:3

O Lord, You’re such a tender God, attending our deepest needs, hearing our heartfelt cries, lifting our spirits from the miry muck, even as continuously, but gently, You ever are mending our broken hearts and lives.

As You nurture us in our tumultuous vulnerability, You call us to the dance, enabling us to praise You.

Help us to remember even Your very faithful Daniel was not spared the lion’s den, but You were there with him, silencing the ravenous roars with Your healing presence…

By the faith You have given us, may we entrust ourselves to You, “knowing” in our heart of hearts, You stand with us as well…

Let (us) praise Your name with dancing

and make music to You...

even, and especially,

Amidst our Raging Storm.

Tuesday's Trust - "I Am Come to Heal..."

Tuesday's Trust

"I Am Come to Heal..."

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised...

~Jesus

~Luke 4:18 KJV

~~~
O Lord, quicken our broken hearts to rest in Thee, for You alone heal us ever so gently throughout our lifetime on earth, yet culminate our healing fully when You wipe all our tears away, forever!
Thank You for Your faithful, tender, healing love poured out on us daily...
Truly, we need Thee every hour!
2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.3And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying,
"Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
~Revelation 21:2-4 NASB
