Friday's Faith - We Walked Along the Road Together

Friday's Faith

We Walked Along the Road Together

We walked along the road together,
My daughter, tiny then, and I
My heart heavy, hers light as a feather
On that tender day, bright sun in the sky.

Into my pain, she spoke her truth,
Child-like, true to her nature:
The pain was shattered down to its root
By its piercing clarity, simply, to her mother wagered.

Were you child, or angel fair
With your clear green eyes and curls of hair?
Did God take you to His skies of blue
Those few years later, back to your Home so true?
Do you still speak down into my pain
With your breath of fresh air like a soothing rain?

We walk along the road together:
My daughter with her spritely grin, and I
My heart heavy, hers light as a feather
On these tender days, bright sun in the sky.

Tuesday's Trust - To Feel An "Angel" By Faith…

Tuesday's Trust

To Feel An "Angel" By Faith…

I felt an "angel" near today, and though I could not see,
I could feel the patting of my heart, O so tenderly…

I looked there deep within my soul
And heard my heart cry out hurt's toll...

Yet immediately it seemed, I inhaled a jasmine-like fragrance
Reminiscent of an early spring breeze's soothing scents,

When then it seemed the very rays of the sun's warming glow
Reached out to embrace and hold me, rocking me gently to and fro…

And then in the distance I could hear the lightest beat of the softest drum
Beating out an old familiar "rum pa pum pum"…

But when I felt the gentlest sprinkling of Love's falling dew
Blanketing my heart-and-soul-and-spirit's deep duress,

That's when a cry sprang from out my sorrowed soul, as then I knew…
It was my own sweet "Angel" weeping with me, cradling her mommy's broken heart unto her gentle breast…

I felt an "angel" near today, and though I could not see,
I could feel her patting of my heart, O so tenderly,

Yet this was my precious "Angel" sent here just for me,
And the love she sends through my heart is simply Heavenly…

Saturday's Sayings - Our Love Never Dies

A child's Love never dies ~
and neither does her mother's . . .

Saturday's Sayings

Our Love Never Dies

Grief is not a disease,
It is not an illness.
It is not depression.
It is, in fact
an expression
of love.
Grief can only be a disease
if Love is.

The After Loss Credo
˙·٠•●♥ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ♥●•٠·

I need to talk about my loss.
I may often need to tell you what happened -
or to ask you why it happened.
Each time I discuss my loss, I am helping myself
face reality of the death of my loved one.
I need to know that you care about me.
I need to feel your touch, your hugs.
I need you just to be with me (and I need to be with you).
I need to know you believe in me and in my
ability to get through my grief in my own way
(and in my own time).

Please don't judge me now -
or think that I'm behaving strangely.
Remember I'm grieving.
I may even be in shock.
I may feel afraid. I may feel deep rage.
I may even feel guilty. But above all, I hurt.
I'm experiencing pain unlike any I've ever felt before.
Don't worry if you think I'm getting better
and then suddenly I seem to slip backward.
Grief makes me behave this way at times.
And please don't tell me you "know how I feel,"
or that it's time for me to get on with my life.
(I am probably already saying this to myself).

What I need now is time to grieve and to recover.
Most of all, thank you for being my friend.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for your caring.
Thank you for helping, and understanding.
Thank you for praying for me.
And remember, in the days or years ahead,
After your loss - when you need me
as I needed you - I will understand.
And then I will come and be with you.

From all that was familiar, I broke away.
"Now I am lost, without a place, wandering."
With no music like a fool I dance and clap my hands.
How am I to live without you?
You are everywhere but
I cannot see You.

You've just walked on ahead of me
And I've got to understand
You must release the ones you love
And let go of their hand.
I try and cope the best I can
But I'm missing you so much.
If I could only see you
And once more feel your touch.
You've just walked on ahead of me
Don't worry I'll be fine
But now and then I swear
I feel Your hand slip into mine.

Light a Candle

Light a candle,
See it glow,
Watch it dance,
When you feel low.
Think of me,
Think of light,
I'll always be here,
Day or night.
A candle flickers
Out of sight,
But in your heart,
I still burn bright.
Think not of sadness
That I'm not near;
Think of gladness,
And joyous cheer.
I have not gone,
I'm here to stay,
My loved one.
So when you light a candle
And you see it glow,
And you watch it dance,
In your heart you'll know
That I would never leave you
Even when you feel so blue.
I'm sitting up here with the Lord
And now watching over you.

Hush Little Angel

Hush little angel, close your eyes
Fold those wings in tight
Way up in heaven above the skies
Oh what a beautiful sight.

Hush little angel, nestle right in
Your bed so cosy and warm
Living in heaven where there's no sin
And you can suffer no harm.

Hush little angel, don't you cry
God is really close, you know
He hears every whimper and sigh
And will always cuddle you close.

Hush little angel, Muma's near
She's just a heartbeat away
Hush little angel, never fear
You're in her heart to stay.

Friday's Faith - The "Quickening": From Birth to Re-Birth

Friday's Faith

The "Quickening":

From Birth to Re-Birth

"Full with child," she's told ~ so hard to believe
There's a speck of life inside this mother-to-be!
The words are there; the tests reveal
Truths for her she can't yet feel.
The ultrasound soon sends a sound
Of a beating heart such truth to resound.
But then one day comes the "quickening":
She feels for herself life hearkening...
Each movement inside proves there's life,
Creating a bond till faith becomes sight!

And so with you, my life-filled child,
I'm told you are not dead, but fully alive!
I cannot see; I groan from within,
But over time, comes the "quickening":
When Life I'm told that's surely there
Is felt from within before it's to appear.
You hearken to my beating heart,

"I'm Here Mommy; we're just apart!"

The tears come---it's hard to believe,
But such joyous news, I gladly receive.
I speak to you, I feel you near;
Life's quickening begins before you appear!
As Wonderful as your life-on-earth here,
How much more joyous Then~
When in Heaven you'll fully appear!

So my child I'll await,
Though you're still sight unseen...
For Heaven's Gate
To open and reveal: Life's completed quickening...
When tears of Joy then shall reign
And you're in your Mommy's arms again!
I'll patiently wait through Death's Dark Night
Until that Great Day when my Faith becomes Sight!

Saturday's Sayings - Letters From Heaven...

Saturday's Sayings

Letters From Heaven...

"A MOTHERS LETTER TO HEAVEN"

I SIT AND WRITE THIS LETTER
WITH TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE
BUT I KNOW DEEP IN MY HEART
YOU ARE IN A SPECIAL PLACE

I THINK BACK TO THE TIME
WHEN GOD GAVE YOU TO ME
I HELD YOU IN MY ARMS
AS HAPPY AS I COULD BE

FIRST WORDS FIRST STEP FIRST SMILE
I WAS THERE TO SEE YOU GROW
YOU GAVE ME SUCH HAPPINESS
MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW

TEENAGE YEARS YOU HAD YOUR FEARS
BUT TOGETHER WE GOT THROUGH
IN GOOD TIMES AND IN BAD TIMES
I WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU

I (WATCHED) YOU GROW AND LOVED YOU SO
SO PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAD BECOME
YOU WOULD ALWAYS BE MY BABY
AND I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR MUM

THE DAY YOU DIED HOW MUCH I CRIED
MY HEART WAS BROKE IN TWO
HOW COULD I LIVE IN A WORLD
HOW COULD I GO ON WITHOUT YOU

BUT I KNOW YOU ARE STILL HERE
I FEEL YOU NEAR ME EVERYDAY
YOU LEAVE WHITE FEATHERS EVERYWHERE
I KNOW (YOU'RE) NEVER FAR AWAY

I SWEAR I HEAR YOUR VOICE
TELLING ME I LOVE YOU MUM
ONE DAY WE WE WILL BE TOGETHER
I KNOW THAT DAY WILL COME

REST IN PEACE MY CHILD
I SEND THIS LETTER WITH ALL MY LOVE
UPON THE WINGS OF AN ANGEL
TO HEAVEN UP ABOVE

KNOWING DEATH IS NOT THE END
HELPS TO EASE THE PAIN
BY HEAVENS GATE I KNOW YOU WAIT
TILL WE ARE TOGETHER ONCE AGAIN

Mom, This picture of me is dedicated
to the best Mom a child
could ever have: YOU!

I'm at peace in Heaven and
someday we will be together again.
I can't explain but please have
faith in that. In the meantime
think of good and happy times
which were so many {that's what I do}.
My spirit will always be with
you and God brings you love.

Your loving daughter,

Karly

I will always love you.

To My Dearest One On Earth
by Love Letters to Heaven
on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 6:30 pm

My dearest one, I'm sending this letter from above.
I know right now (you're) missing me, I can feel your love.
You think about my birthday, and the day I had to leave.
But always remember this: I don't wish for you to grieve.

When I wrote my first letter, from Heaven on that day,
I wanted you to understand, that I was doing okay.
I knew the hurt of losing me, would take time for you to heal,
And even though it's been awhile, to you, it seems unreal.

But Mom, here in Heaven, with Jesus by my side,
The Golden Gate will open, when you come here to reside.
I know it's difficult for you, to understand your pain,
But once you arrive in Heaven, it will all be explained.

It's okay for you to cry, just let the tears give way,
Then tilt your head and look above, you'll feel my touch today.
Just keep the faith, believe my words, you'll see the morning light.
God and I are with you, every morning, noon and night.

Saturday's Sayings - Love is Eternal

Saturday's Sayings

Love is Eternal

LOVE NEVER DISAPPEARS

Love never disappears for death is a non-event.
I have merely retired to the room next door.
You and I are the same; what we were for each other, we still are.
Speak to me as you always have.
Do not use a different tone, do not be sad.
Continue to laugh at what made us laugh.
Smile and think of me.
Life means what it has always meant.
The link is not severed.
Why should I be out of your soul if I am out of your sight?
I will wait for you; I am not here, but just on the other side of this path.
You see, all is well.

~ St. Augustine

You know, I sat up night after night with my child, carried him a (sic) many miles. Took him for his shots and school was his favorite place where he met friends. I went to meetings, even faced up against the DCS and COG home for children to get him home from a camp ...[I ] put him in ...and to come home and, paid his ticket fines and cell phone bills, and took him shopping for clothes because a friend stole his clothes…bought another cell phone, because a friend stepped on it.
It was more than being a mother, more than being his friend, and grandmother to his child…or children. It was part of my heart and soul. I brought him up in church and taught him well. We don't choose what our children do, we are just there for them.
I gave up millions to BE there and then, He's Gone …and I am at loss of everything that I invested my life in. Want to scream his name, but he doesn't answer …so I pray that God gets a message to him, telling him, I loved him with all my heart and soul and mind and am sorry for not being there in the end.

I have not turned my back on you
So there is no need to cry.
I'm watching you from heaven
Just beyond the morning sky.

I've seen you almost fall apart
When you could barely stand.
I asked an angel to comfort you
And watched her take your hand.

She told me you are in more pain
Than I could ever be.
She wiped her eyes and swallowed hard
Then gave your hand to me.

Although you may not feel my touch
Or see me by your side.
I've whispered that I love you
While I wiped each tear you cried.

So please try not to ache for me
We'll meet again one day.
Beyond the dark and stormy sky
A rainbow lights the way.

Look for me in Rainbows

Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you.

It won't be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.

Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And I'll be there with you.

When all was quiet
And we were sad
Thinking of the
Times we'd had

A butterfly
Then came to us
Flew around
Without a rush

Showed us how
He'd been set free
Drifting off
Where we can't see

Helped us know
He's on his way
We'll treasure this
Each passing day.

Tuesday's Trust - An Easter Letter to My Daughter in Heaven

Tuesday's Trust

An Easter Letter to My Daughter in Heaven

Who are you today,

And what do you do?

How do you spend your day?

When we're sad, how do you get through?

How is it to live without sin,

No bad habits, no temptations

To cause you war within,

No irritations, no aggravations

To sap your soul and worry you,

Just happy times and meeting friends,

Sweet times with God to get you through,

Just your pure sweet spirit God ever tends

And loving Him back, the best of Friends?!

Baby girl, I miss you so,

But it does help Mommy's heart to know

You are happy, in the sweetest care

Surrounded by loved ones who are There;

Face to Face with your Savior

His sweet fragrance for you ever to savor,

Hand in Hand with the Living Lord

Who died to kill Death, your sweet reward;

Kneeling before the Almighty God Your Lord

Crying tears of happiness that He conquered Death's sword,

Continually amazed at His amazing grace,

And being held so close to Him, You ever see His face!

You ever commune with His Sweet Spirit,

His still, small voice so close, you can always hear it

As He reminds you who you were, and who you are today,

Reminding how He got you through, and always heard you pray.

I imagine you cry many tears every day

Just like your mommy, when we each pray,

And yet yours are steeped in happiness

For you know the end of the story is faithful to God's tenderness.

Pray for us that through our tears, we'll keep our eyes on our Lord

For He promises all the bitter pain we now bear cannot compare to His magnanimous reward,

Which includes that we'll get to see you

And bask in His glorious love that paid it all for us to make it through!

Happy Easter little one!

Give my deepest love to God the Father, His Sweet Spirit, and His Precious, Loving Son.

Hold me close in heart as I do you

For it's Love that is shared that gets me through...

Friday's Faith - Heart Prints ~Angie Bennett Prince ~in memory of Merry Katherine Prince and her loving heart prints...

Friday's Faith

Heart Prints

~Angie Bennett Prince

in memory of

Merry Katherine Prince

and her loving heart prints...

My child has left her heart prints...

They're all over, inside my heart.

For though I cannot touch her,

We're never, ever, far apart.

She ever leaves her heart prints

Inside my grieving heart,

Not finger prints, but heart prints,

Reaching far deeper than grief's scars.

She is not far from me you see,

She's just beyond the Veil,

She ever hovers near me,

To rescue from Death's knell.

When deepest tears of mine do come,

I feel her presence near,

For when she sees by grief I'm bummed,

She smiles to lend her tender cheer.

She sees my heart is in a hole;

She rushes in with sweet console.

Her heart and soul so pure from sin,

She sees my need; she's ushered in ~

God lends her to watch over me;

She quickly comes and comforts me.

And though she hovers near me,

Her spirit I can't "see,"

Still, her sweetness I can sense...

As I'm showered by heavenly hints. . .

Her smile "appears," her joy, I sense ~

It keeps me from falling completely apart,

As she leaves her healing heart prints

Upon my broken heart.

Then suddenly. . .

My heart lifts up for all its worth

Filled with joy, like from her birth!

It seems whenever grief's deepest pain

O'ercomes, making me wince,

Her radiant smile pierces my pain,

Soothing my heart with her sweet heart prints!
