Monday's Mourning Ministry
From the Darkness of my Child-Loss Grief...
~
Great is Thy Faithfulness
~Fernando Ortego
From the Darkness of my Child-Loss Grief...
Lord God my Father, here am I, Your child,
Crying before You with burdens so piled,
Steeped in the darkness of my child-loss grief
And that of other mothers, with no relief...
But as I come, before You to stand,
You look down in love, and hold out Your hand:
You remind me too that You lost Your child,
To conquer death and restore me my child...
So though on earth, I may find no relief,
I must remember, my stay here is brief.
There'll be a time I am rejoined with her,
For now I must bear my cross, borne for her.
You blessed me so deeply with th' birth of each child;
Can I not trust th' One who in Love reconciled
Their sweet hearts to You, so they'd forever live,
You who from merciful love, Your Own Son did give?
O Loving God, what mercy You did bear,
Loving our children with all Your heart's care:
Giving up Your Son that we might live.
Such love constrains me, my whole life to give...
Give me Your strength to face each painful day,
For though I see glimpses of Your love here,
The Vile One doth rule so wickedly here,
Until Your world shall be restored on That Day.
Give me Your sustenance to carry on,
Bearing Your light where Darkness is shown.
You have Your plan for me while I'm here;
Help me be faithful... though Death, my heart, e'er doth sear.
And thank You Lord, that You gave Your All,
For my child t' be with You at Your loving call.
From here, I see as through a glass darkly,
From There, You see beyond this world starkly...
*****
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
~John 3:16 (New Living Translation, 2007)
Because God's children are human beings--made of flesh and blood--the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
~Hebrews 2:14 (New Living Translation, 2007)
(Christ) is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. For to be sure, He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we will live with Him to serve you.
~2 Corinthians 13:3b-4 (New International Version)
The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out.
~John 12:31 (New Living Translation, 2007)
For now we see things in a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now my knowledge is in part; then it will be complete, even as God's knowledge of me.
~1 Corinthians 13:12 (Bible in Basic English)
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
~2 Corinthians 12:79-10 (New International Version)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
~2 Corinthians 1:3 (New International Version)

Great is Thy Faithfulness
~Fernando Ortego
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father
there is no shadow of turning with Thee,
Thou changest not,
Thy compassions they fail not.
as Thou hast been,
Thou Forever wilt be.
Summer and winter,
and springtime and harvest,
sun moon and stars
in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Great is Thy faithfulness,
great is Thy faithfulness.
morning by morning,
new mercies I see
all I have needed,
Thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me!
Pardon for sin,
and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence
to cheer and to guide
strength for today
and bright hope for tomorrow
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.
Great is Thy faithfulness,
great is Thy faithfulness
morning by morning, new mercies I see
all I have needed,
Thy hand hath provided,
great is Thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me!
Great is Thy faithfulness,
great is Thy faithfulness,
morning by morning,
new mercies I see,
all I have needed,
Thy hand hath provided
great is Thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me!
