Friday's Faith - Groans that Words Cannot Express...- Grieving for Another Grieving Mother

Friday's Faith

Groans that Words Cannot Express...

Grieving for Another Grieving Mother

Why is it when I hear a mother's grief,

I am rendered mute, without words, speechless,

Full of pain like jewels beneath the reef,

Never seen in light for any to witness...

Some pain cannot be expressed in mere words;

Depths of agony, words cannot bespeak.

Th' mother's love sent, silently undergirds

The fellow-grieving-mother rendered weak.

Like a preverbal child calls out her cries

With a yearning she's not yet learned to speak,

Yet her message very adeptly flies

To the heav'ns as swiftly as on bird's beak.

Grieving mother, when you don't hear from me,

Perhaps my heart feels a deeper calling,

To intercede with groans upon my knees

For you, for our God knows when you're falling.

*****

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.

We do not know what we ought to pray,

but the Spirit intercedes for us

with groans that words cannot express.

~Romans 8:26

Hi Sweet Angie, I always enjoy reading what you write and your poems are beautiful! I've told my husband about your great loss and he too, hurts for you & your husband.
We felt wierd and joyful at the same time to get to go on a vacation with our grandkids and family. It had been quite awhile since we were able to do that. God sure granted us favor as that big motorhome scared me several times on those narrow, under-construction roads with huge semi trucks almost touching us. I just wanted to go back home.... but, all in all we had a wonderful trip. Camping like that was a new experience for me. Stone Mt. was fun, but sooooo hot and sooo much walking to the festaival, and park. The shuttles were a blessing tho'.
You said you and your husband, Tommy, met in Atlanta and have some very fond memories of there. I am a Ga. girl too altho' we've lived in Fl. most of my life.
The grieving goes on doesn't it? Ours comes in waves, as I suppose most experience. I know you have
such a tender heart for other grieving parents! Some who are going thru the pain of such senseless, un-timely loss of their child makes me so sad too.
We saw a couple yesterday at the cemetery who looked so young and grief-stricken visiting a recent grave for a long time, standing out in the hot sun while we sat there in a cool, shaded spot in our chairs some distance away. I wanted to cry with them.
You & Cindy Miller both have so much in common with the sudden, tragic loss of your daughters at 19. I don't even know how to express my feelings for you.
Just like the scripture says in your quote of Romans 8:26 In the same way ,the spirit helps us in our weakness. We don't know what to pray, but the spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.....
Love to you, my friend!
