Monday's Mourning Ministry - Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen ~Mahalia Jackson

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen

~Mahalia Jackson

Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen

~Mahalia Jackson

Nobody knows, Lord, the trouble I've seen;
Lordy, nobody knows my sorrow.
Yes, nobody knows the trouble I've seen;
But glory hallelujah!

Sometimes I'm standing crying,
Tears running down my face,
I cry to the Lord have mercy,
Help me run this ole race.
Oh Lord, I have so many trials,
So many pains and woes,
I'm asking for faith and comfort,
Lord, help me to bear this load.

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen;
Well, no nobody knows but Jesus. well, well,
No, nobody knows, oh the trouble, the trouble I've seen;
I'm singing glory, glory glory hallelujah!

Well, No, nobody knows, oh the trouble, the trouble I've seen;
Lord, no, nobody knows my sorrow.
Well, well well, no nobody knows,
You know the trouble, the trouble I've seen;
I'm singing glory, glory, glory hallelujah!

and

Lamenting is Worship!

~Michael Card

Parts 6 & 7 (final parts)

There You'll Be

~Faith Hill

When I think back
On these times
And the dreams
We left behind
I'll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back
On these days
I'll look and see your face
You were right there for me

[Chorus:]
In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

Well you showed me
How it feels
To feel the sky
Within my reach
And I always
Will remember all
The strength you
Gave to me
Your love made me
Make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me

[Repeat chorus]

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always

[Chorus:]
In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
There you'll be

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Come Lift Up Your Sorrows ~Michael Card

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Come Lift Up Your Sorrows

~Michael Card

Come Lift Up Your Sorrows

song (written, played and sung)
by Michael Card
and video created by Heather Gartshore

~~~
"This wailing is what is inside all us Child-Loss parents all the time..."
~Tommy Prince
~~~

If you are wounded
And if you're alone,
If you are angry,
If your heart is cold as stone,

If you have fallen,
And if you are weak,
Come find the Word of God
That only the suffering seek.

Come lift up your sorrows,
And offer your pain.
Come make a sacrifice of all your shame.

There in your wilderness,
He's waiting for you
To worship Him with your wounds,
For He's wounded too.

He has not stuttered
And He has not lied
When He said "Come unto Me,"
You're not disqualified;

When you're heavy laden,
You may want to depart
But those who know sorrow
They're closest to His heart.

Come lift up your sorrows,
And offer your pain;
Come make a sacrifice of all your shame.

There in your wilderness,
He's waiting for you
To worship Him with your wounds,
For He's wounded too.

In this most holy place,
He's made a sacred space
For those who will enter in
And trust to cry out to Him,

You'll find no curtain there,
No reason left for fear;
There's perfect freedom here
To weep every unwept tear.

Come lift up your sorrows, (Lift up your sorrows)
And offer your pain. (Offer your pain)
Come make a sacrifice
Of all your shame.

There in your wilderness, (There in your wilderness)
He's waiting for you (He's waiting for you)
To worship Him with your wounds,
For He's wounded too.

(Come, come) Come lift up your sorrows,
(Come bring your pain, oh yeah)
And offer your pain. (Come make a sacrifice)
Come make a sacrifice (Of all your shame)
Of all your shame.
There in your wilderness,
He's waiting for you (He's waiting for you)
To worship Him with your wounds,
For He's wounded too. (He's wounded too yeah)

Worship Him with your wounds, (all your wounds)
For He's wounded too.

Come worship Him with your wounds,
For He's wounded too.

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Holes in the Floor of Heaven ~Steve Wariner

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Holes in the Floor of Heaven

~Steve Wariner

Holes In The Floor Of Heaven

~Steve Wariner

One day shy of 8 years old, (my) Grandma passed away,
I was a broken hearted little boy, blowin' out that birthday cake.
How I cried when the sky let go, with a cold and lonesome rain,
Momma smiled, said, "Don't be sad child, Grandma's watchin' you today!"

[Chorus]
'Cause there's holes in the floor of heaven and her tears are pourin' down
That's how you know she's watchin', wishing she could be here now.
And sometimes if you're lonely, just remember she can see,
There's holes in the floor of heaven, and she's watchin' over you and me.

Seasons come and seasons go, nothing stays the same.
I grew up, fell in love, met a girl who took my name.
Year by year, we made a life in this sleepy little town.
I thought we'd grow old together ~ Lord I sure do miss her now!

But there's holes in the floor of heaven, and her tears are pourin' down.
That's how I know she's watchin', wishing she could be here now.
And sometimes when I'm lonely, I remember she can see,
There's holes in the floor of heaven, and she's watchin' over you and me.

Well my little girl is 23, I walk her down the aisle,
It's a shame her mom can't be here now, to see her lovely smile.
They throw the rice, I catch her eye,
As the rain starts comin' down.
She takes my hand says, "Daddy don't be sad, 'cause I know Momma is watchin' now!
And there's holes in the floor of heaven, and her tears are pourin' down,
thats how you know she's watchin', wishin' she could be here now."
And sometimes when I'm lonely, I remember she can see,
Yes, there's holes in the floor of heaven, and she's watchin' over you and me.

Watchin' over you and me
Watchin' over you and me
Watchin' over you and me

Monday's Mourning Ministry - When You're Gone ~Avril Lavigne

Monday's Mourning Ministry

When You're Gone

~Avril Lavigne

When You're Gone

~Avril Lavigne

I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie is made up on your side

When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it OK
I miss you

I've never felt this way before
Everything that I do reminds me of you
And the clothes you left, they lie on the floor
And they smell just like you, I love the things that you do

When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it OK
I miss you

We were made for each other
Out here forever
I know we were, yeah
All I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I do, I give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe, I need to feel you here with me, yeah

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it OK
I miss you

Monday's Mourning Ministry - A Picture of Me Without You ~Lorrie Morgan

Monday's Mourning Ministry

A Picture of Me Without You

~Lorrie Morgan

On Facebook this week, I ran across this song from a fellow grieving mother who said,

This is kinda mournful and twangy........
but it (popped) up on my screen...
And the words are true,
Of a mother's broken heart.

~Grieving Mother, Lu Prudhomme of "Our Angels and Angel Family Friends"

A Picture of Me Without You

~Lorrie Morgan

Imagine a world where no music was playin'
then think of a church were nobody's prayin' ~
Have you ever looked up at a sky with no blue,
Then you've seen a picture of me without you.

Have you walked in a garden where nothing was growin'
Or stood by a river where nothing was flowin'?
If you've seen a red rose unkissed by the dew,
Then you've seen a picture of me without you.

Can you picture Heaven with no angels singin'
Or a quiet Sunday morning' with no church bells ringin'?
If you've watched as the heart of a child breaks in two,
Then you've seen a picture of me without you...

Can you picture Heaven with no angels singin'
Or a quiet Sunday morning' with no church bells ringin'?
If you've watched as the heart of a child breaks in two,
Then you've seen a picture of me without you...

Then you've seen a picture of me without you.

Monday's Mourning Ministry - What Wondrous Love Is This? ~Connie Dover

Monday's Mourning Ministry

What Wondrous Love Is This?

~Connie Dover

What Wondrous Love Is This?

~Connie Dover

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To send such perfect peace to my soul, to my soul,
To send such perfect peace to my soul?

Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down His life for His friends.

~John 15:13

The winged angels fly, bear the news, bear the news
The winged angels fly, bear the news
With loud and joyful cry bear the news, bear the news,
With loud and joyful cry bear the news

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.

~Mark 10:45

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

~John 10:10

To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing.
To God and to the Lamb, behold the great I AM
And to the Son of Man, I will sing, I will sing,
And to the Son of Man, I will sing!

musical interlude

The Lord bless thee; The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

~Numbers 6:24-26

When we're from sorrow free, we'll sing on, we'll sing on.
When we're from sorrow free, we'll sing on.
When we're from sorrow free, we'll rise and joyful be
and through Eternity, we'll sing on, we'll sing on,
and through Eternity, we'll sing on!

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

~Philippians 4:23

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this, that caused the Lord of bliss
To send such perfect peace to my soul, to my soul,
To send such perfect peace to my soul?

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

~Psalm 121:7-8

Monday's Mourning Ministry - I Drive Your Truck ~Lee Brice

Sometimes

Sometimes we need to be alone
Far from the stress and strain
We need to be with our own thoughts
To work our way through pain
We need to have some quiet time
To relax and think things through
To work out a solution
So we know what we must do
Others try to help us
But we don't like to moan
It's just sometimes better
To deal with things alone.

~John F. Connor

Monday's Mourning Ministry

I Drive Your Truck

~Lee Brice

Merry Katherine drove a little red Ford Ranger truck that she just loved; sometimes, she and I would jump in it and go to the beach together. We had such fond memories of her in that little red truck. After she was killed (in someone else's four-wheel drive Tahoe,) we kept her truck for several years just to feel like life was a little more normal because her little red truck was in the driveway.

It was four-wheel drive, so she would love to take her friends off-road, ideally onto a muddy field, and go in circles to spin them around and around as fast as she could. (Once she came home with the mud all over it (too tired to get it washed {to hide the evidence of her shenanigans} before coming home I guess), with the mud even all over and down into its engine.... Tommy could tell she had to replace a tire because the lug nuts on one tire were barely hanging on...) She was quite the adventurer, captain of the Climbing Team in high school, ond on the Rugby team in college if that gives you any idea...

So, like this song, if anyone wanted to "feel" her close after her sudden death, it would be the easiest to climb into her truck and "burn up every back road in this town" ... "leaving that radio playing the same old country station where she'd left it."

As you might imagine, this song was quite the tear jerker for me when I heard it for the first time last week....

I Drive Your Truck

~Lee Brice

89 cents in the ash tray
Half empty bottle of Gatorade rolling on the floorboards
That dirty Braves cap on the dash
Dog tags hanging from the rear-view,
Old skoal can and cowboy boots and an old army shirt folded in the back
This thing burns gas like crazy, but that's alright
People got their ways of coping oh and I got mine

I drive your truck, I roll every window down
And I burn up every back road in this town
I find a field I tear it up till all the pane's a cloud of dust
Yeah, sometimes I drive your truck

I leave that radio playing same old country station where you left it
Yeah man I crank it up
And you'd probably punch my arm right now if you saw this tear rolling down on my face
Hey man I'm trying to be tough...
Momma asked me this morning if I've been by your grave
But that flag and stone ain't where I feel you anyway...

I drive your truck, I roll every window down
And I burn up every back road in this town
I find a field I tear it up till all the pane's a cloud of dust
Yeah, sometimes I drive your truck

I've cussed, I've prayed, I've said good bye
I've shook my fist and asked God why
These days when I'm missing you this much...

I drive your truck, I roll every window down
And I burn up every back road in this town
I find a field I tear it up till all the pane's a cloud of dust
Yeah, sometimes I drive your truck...

I drive your truck
I drive your truck
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind
I drive your truck

When we lose a loed one
Our world just falls apart
We think that we can't carry on
With this broken heart
Everything is different now
You're upset and you're annoyed ~
Your world it seems is shattered
There's such an awful void
There's got to be a reason
And we have to understand
God made us and at any time
He'll reach down for our hand
There might not be a warning
We won't know where or when
The only thing we're certain of
Is we'll meet them close again.

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Address In The Stars ~Caitlin & Will

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Address In The Stars

~Caitlin & Will

Address In The Stars

~Caitlin & Will

song shared by ~Grieving Mother, Darlene Thomas

I stumbled across your picture today
I could barely breathe
The moment stopped me cold,
Grabbed me like a thief.
I dialed your number, but you wouldn't be there
I knew the whole time, but it's still not fair
I just wanted to hear your voice,
I just needed to hear your voice.

What do I do with all I need to say?
So much I wanna tell you everyday
Oh it breaks my heart,
I cry these tears in the dark
I write these letters to you,
But they get lost in the blue,
'Cause there's no address in the stars.

Now I'm drivin'
Through the pitch black dark
I'm screaming at the sky
Oh cause it hurts so bad
Everybody tells me
Oh all I need is time
Then the mornin' rolls in
And it hits me again
And that ain't nothin' but a lie.

What do I do with all I need to say?
So much I wanna tell you everyday
Oh it breaks my heart,
I cry these tears in the dark
I write these letters to you,
But they get lost in the blue,
'Cause there's no address in the stars.

Without you here with me,
I don't know what to do.
I'd give anything
Just to talk to you
Oh it breaks my heart,
Oh it breaks my heart,
All I can do
Is write these letters to you,
But there's no address in the stars.

Monday's Mourning Ministry - God in Heaven Knows ~The New Hinsons

Monday's Mourning Ministry

God in Heaven Knows

~The New Hinsons

God in Heaven Knows

~The New Hinsons

There you are at the bottom of disaster
Beyond your tear filled eyes the world goes by
Caught up in their laughter

Not a wrong or right in their sight
That’s what they suppose
But up above your moan high on His throne
God in heaven knows

God in heaven knows He sees it all
Every step you take and when you fall
God in heaven feels your grief and moans
You will smile again just call on Him
For God in heaven knows

You fought hard to keep the hurt from showin'
You never lost that fight in broad daylight
So it’s not their fault not knowin'
And only you can taste the tears that trace
From the canyons of your soul
But that same stabbing pain
That you now claim
God in heaven knows

God in heaven knows He sees it all
Every step you take and when you fall
God in heaven feels your grief and moans
You will smile again just call on Him
For God in heaven knows
You will smile again just call on Him
For God in heaven knows

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Even If ~Kutless

"God has said...'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"

~Hebrews 13:5

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Even If

~Kutless

Even If

~Kutless

Sometimes all we have to hold on to
Is what we know is true
Of who You are
So when the heartache hits like a hurricane
That can never change who You are
And we trust in who You are

(Chorus)
Even if the healing doesn't come
And life falls apart
And dreams are still undone
You are God You are good
Forever faithful One
Even if the healing
Even if the healing doesn't come

Lord we know Your ways are not our ways
So we set our faith in who You are
And even though You reign high above us
You tenderly love us
We know Your heart
We rest in who You are

Even if the healing doesn't come
And life falls apart
And dreams are still undone
You are God You are good
Forever faithful One
Even if the healing
Even if the healing doesn't come

You're still the Great and Mighty One
We trust You always
You're working all things for our good
We'll sing your praise

Even if the healing doesn't come
And life falls apart
And dreams are still undone
You are God You are good
Forever faithful One
Even if the healing
Even if the healing doesn't come

You are God and we will bless You
As the Good and Faithful One
You are God and we will bless You
Even if the healing doesn't come
Even if the healing doesn't come

Wednesday's Woe - One Last Christmas ~Matthew West

Wednesday's Woe

One Last Christmas

~Matthew West

One Last Christmas

~Matthew West

Songwriters: WEST, MATTHEW / GORLEY, ASHLEY GLENN

It's the news that no one hopes for,
Every parent's greatest fear
Finding out the child you love so much
Might not make it through the year
Now the thought of spending Christmas
Without him just feels wrong
They've been praying for a miracle,
Now they're praying he can just hold on

Chorus:
For one last Christmas, one last time,
One last season when the world is right,
One more telling of the story,
One more verse of Silent Night,
They'd give anything so he could have
One last Christmas.

Middle of September
Still seventy degrees
Daddy climbs up in the attic
Brings down candles
Hangs the lights on all the trees,
Then the neighbors started asking
And pretty soon word got around
First it was the neighborhood,
Before too long they lit up that whole town.

Chorus:
For one last Christmas, one last time,
One last season when the world is right,
One more telling of the story,
One more verse of Silent Night,
They'd give anything so he could have
One last Christmas.

Twenty-seventh of October,
His time was wearing thin
Friends and family, even strangers
That they didn't know brought presents in
He was weak but he was smiling
Like there was nothing even wrong
They said he wouldn't make it,
Looks like he got to see it after all

Chorus:
For one last Christmas, one last time,
One last season when the world is right,
One more telling of the story,
One more verse of Silent Night,
They gave everything so he could have
One last Christmas
