Tuesday's Trust - My Angel Sang Me to Sleep Last Night ~Angie Bennett Prince

"When you wake up with a song stuck in your head, it means an angel sang you to sleep."

~Denise Baer

Tuesday's Trust

My Angel Sang Me to Sleep Last Night

~Angie Bennett Prince

After a painful night's sleep last night, with a short evening nap preceding that, I realized I had had songs stuck in my head that all brought thoughts of Merry Katherine, and therefore tears along with them in both of these consecutive times of sleep. Then this morning, I discovered this beautiful picture you see above on the Grieving Mothers' Facebook site! So immediately, I was inspired to write the following poem. I wanted to share it with you, my fellow grievers who understand...

My Angel Sang Me to Sleep Last Night

My angel came into my dreams last night
I had whispered her name aloud just before sleep;
She must have whisked by with her wings so light,
Comforting my heart with each loving sweep...

My angel sang me to sleep last night...
Song after song came into my head,
Tears rolling down blurred my sight
As my angel visited me upon my bed.

My angel sang me to sleep last night...
In my dreams, songs were stuck in my head
From both nap time to night time...
My angel revisited, her sweet love so swift to spread.

My angel sang me to sleep last night...
She must have come by to comfort my heart:
It has been nine years today since my daddy died;
It hurts so much when loved ones must part…

My angel sang me to sleep last night...
Tears were surfacing each time when
Each song that came, brought her to mind
As my angel visited again and again.

My angel sang me to sleep last night...
She sensed my loneliness and my hurt,
Met me in my tears with her angel light,
Comforting Mommy with her loving hug…

My angel sang me to sleep last night;
Now I can rest peacefully, hugged so tight...

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Her Hearts Cry / Jesus Take the Wheel ~Carrie Underwood

Merry Katherine and I at the beach August, 2005

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Her Hearts Cry

~

Jesus Take the Wheel

~Carrie Underwood

Her Heart's Cry: "Jesus, Take the Wheel!"

It was August, just one year before

That very drastic day

When her driver let the car drift off

The road, taking her life away.

She and I were going to

The beach that we both so loved...

After two hard years

Of her acting out, she slipped this from its glove...

Put it in the truck's c.d. player for me to hear,

A c.d. entitled simply, "Believe,"

Playing the song that you'll hear here...

Less than one year later, she'd see her mommy grieve...

She played that song, her heart's cry;

She wanted me to know

That though her body acted out,

Her heart before her God was hurting so.

"Jesus take the wheel!" the song would play,

I teased her, "Wait, will this song end well?"

As songs she loved would oft depress her mommy's heart.

She laughed, assuring me it would, one year before I'd be living hell...

Two days after she was killed,

An intuitive friend of mine came by to grieve:

"I think Merry Katherine wants you to have this,"

And she handed me a metal scripted word that simply said,

"Believe."

My friend had no clue of the incident I just shared,

And at the time, I didn't quickly clue in either.

But later when before my Lord, my heart was bared,

I got her message from Heaven, to her Mommy, now a griever...

And though now I'm living hell,

Hurting, missing her, and just wanting her near,

Thankfully my precious child revealed her heart,

And though I'm hurting, I must admit,

Even though we are temporarily apart,

"Yes, her story truly does end... Well!"

Jesus Take the Wheel

Carrie Underwood

Lyrics

Songwriters: James, Brett; Lindsey, Hillary; Sampson, Gordie;

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati

On a snow white Christmas Eve

Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy

With the baby in the backseat

Fifty miles to go and she was running low

On faith and gasoline

It'd been a long hard year

She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention

She was going way too fast

Before she knew it she was spinning

On a thin black sheet of glass

She saw both their lives flash before her eyes

She didn't even have time to cry

She was so scared

She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus, take the wheel

Take it from my hands

'Cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

To save me from this road I'm on

Jesus, take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder

And the car came to a stop

She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat

Sleeping like a rock

And for the first time in a long time

She bowed her head to pray

She said I'm sorry for the way

I've been living my life

I know I've got to change

So from now on tonight

Jesus, take the wheel

Take it from my hands

'Cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

To save me from this road I'm on

Oh Jesus, take the wheel

Oh, I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

Save me from this road I'm on

From this road I'm on

Jesus, take the wheel

Oh, take it, take it from me

Oh, why, ooh

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Cry Out to Jesus ~Third Day

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Cry Out to Jesus

~Third Day

First, I want to thank you for your prayers for me this past week when my computer got zapped. God graciously answered our prayers! All of my memory was indeed saved!!! Also, Apple honored my Applecare warranty that I bought the same day I bought my computer 2 1/2 years ago even though in my grief stupor, I did not register it online as I should have. How kind. So, Apple sent my computer back Saturday, completely restored and repaired, and completely covered by warranty! God is good. And you all are precious to me. I so thank you for your prayers! :)

Cry Out To Jesus

~Third Day

To everyone who's lost someone they love

Long before it was their time:

You feel like the days you had were not enough

when you said Goodbye.

And to all of the people with burdens and pains

Keeping you back from your life

You believe that there's nothing and there is no one

Who can make it right...

Chorus

And there is Hope for the helpless

Rest for the weary

And Love for the broken heart.

There is Grace and Forgiveness,

Mercy and Healing

He'll meet you wherever you are -

Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus!

For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on

They've lost all of their faith in love

And they've done all they can to make it right again;

Still it's not enough.

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains

You try to give up but you come back again -

Just remember that you're not alone in your shame

And your suffering!

Chorus

There is Hope for the helpless

Rest for the weary

And Love for the broken heart -

There is Grace and Forgiveness

Mercy and Healing.

He'll meet you wherever you are -

Cry out to Jesus!

When you're lonely,

And it feels like the whole world is falling on you,

You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus -

Cry to Jesus!

To the widow who suffers from being alone

Wiping the tears from her eyes,

For the children around the world without a home

Say a prayer tonight...

Chorus

There is Hope for the helpless

Rest for the weary

and Love for the broken heart.

There is Grace and Forgiveness

Mercy and Healing.

He'll meet you wherever you are!

There is hope for the helpless

Rest for the weary

and Love for the broken heart.

There is Grace and Forgiveness

Mercy and Healing.

He'll meet you wherever you are

Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus!

Oh Cry out to Jesus,

Cry out to Jesus!

*****

I call on You, O God, for You will answer me.

~Psalm 17:6

The Lord is close to the
brokenhearted
and saves those who are
crushed in spirit.

~Psalm 34:18

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for You O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for
the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"
These things I remember as I
pour out my soul;
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.

Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me.
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise Him,
my Savior and my God.

My soul is downcast within me,
therefore I will remember You....

Deep calls to deep
in the roar of Your waterfalls;
all Your waves and breakers have swept over me.

By day the Lord directs His love,
at night His song is with me--
a prayer to the God of my life.

I say to God my Rock,
"Why have You forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?"
My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

Why are you downcast,
O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise Him,
my Savior and my God.

~Psalm 42

The hearts of the people
cry out to the Lord.
...Let your tears flow
like a river
day and night...
Arise, cry out in the night,
as the watches of the night begin;
pour out your heart like water
in the presence of the Lord.
Lift up your hands to Him....

~Lamentations 2:18-19

Monday's Mourning Ministry - Safe ~Phil Wickham

Monday's Mourning Ministry

Safe

~Phil Wickham

Safe

~Phil Wickham

(Featuring Bart Millard from MercyMe)

To the one who's dreams are falling all apart,
And all you're left with is a tired and broken heart:
I can tell by your eyes you think you're on your own
but you're not all alone!

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas,
Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet,
With a love so strong He'll never let you go,
No you're not alone!

Chorus:
You will be safe in His arms!
You will be safe in His arms,
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart!
This is the promise He made:
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart,
You will be safe in His arms...

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you now to rise
So hear Him now, He's calling you home -
You will never be alone!

You will be safe in His arms!
You will be safe in His arms,
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart!
This is the promise He made:
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart,
You will be safe in His arms...

Bridge:
These are the hands that built the mountains
The hands that calm the seas.

These are the arms that hold the heavens,
They are holding you and me.

These are hands that healed the leper
Pulled the lame up to their feet.
These are the arms that were nailed to a cross
To break our chains and set us free!

You will be safe in His arms!
You will be safe in His arms,
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart!
This is the promise He made:
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart,
You will be safe in His arms...

Safe in His arms,

Safe in His arms,

When everything is falling apart,
You will be safe in His arms!
