Monday's Mourning Ministry - When God Seems So Near ~Gaither Homecoming

Monday's Mourning Ministry

When God Seems So Near

~Gaither Homecoming

Bill's brother, Danny Gaither's last show

When I pause in the hush of His holy presence
When I'm so still I can hear each whispered word
When I pause to pray, I enter His cathedral
These are the times when God seems so near.

There are times when I cannot feel His presence
When the clouds of doubt obscure the Master's smile
But when I'm still enough to hear His gentle whispers
Then I know my Lord has been there all the while.

When I pause in the hush of His holy presence
When I'm so still I can hear each whispered word
When I pause to pray, I enter His cathedral
These are the times when God seems so near.

These are the times when God seems so near.

Friday's Faith - How to See God's Love Amidst Our Child's Death...

Friday's Faith

How to See God's Love Amidst Our Child's Death...

I was starting to read my new novel from the library early this morning when I could not sleep. But first I read the preface poem; it stopped me in my tracks, and I knew I had to finish William Blake's poem…

The first verse below is the poem by William Blake from Auguries of Innocence that prefaced my book Afterwards by brilliant author Rosamund Lupton whose prose itself reads more like poetry. The second two verses are mine. May you enjoy, and better yet, may you be ministered to by God's love that ever buttresses our hearts amidst our deep grief…

To See God's Love…

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

To see God's love in the life of a man
And His Heaven in the face of a child,
Watch the tiny bird held in the palm of His hand,
And the delight of love light up in the face of the man's grandchild.

To see God's love for mine and your child,
Look at the life that to you was born;
Though we may not see them for quite a long while,
He holds them There for us till our night breaks through to Morn.

Tuesday's Trust - Meditation 2 ~ When You Can't Feel God's Love...

Tuesday's Trust

Meditation 2

~ When You Can't Feel God's Love...

O My child, when you doubt,

Reach out and touch My blood poured out,

Whipped and beaten mercilessly

Because of My love poured out for thee.

O My child, when you wonder,

The depth of my love for your child,

Hearken your ears to My roaring thunder,

Such passion I have for each precious child.

O My child, when You can't see

The ways of My love in your life,

Lift your eyes to Calvary's Tree,

My love poured out 'gainst Darkness rife.

O My child, taste now your tears

As they flow down your cheeks like rain;

Taste of My love cried out through the years,

My tears fill the oceans with Love's sweet refrain.

O my child, when you can't understand,

Consider My disciples of yesteryear;

They could not see My Master Plan

Though it was spelled out into their ear,

My plan of love carried out,

despite their fear, despite their doubt.

O My child, when you can't feel My power

Used everyday for your loving care,

Smell the fragrance of My lovely flower,

My intimacies poured out for you everyday.

O My child, be still and know I am God,

Many of My ways you can't understand;

Just lift your heart to My heart and nod,

As you do know My love behind My plan.

O my child, raise up your arms by faith;

Show Me thy love by singing Love's praise.

You'll not always understand My loving ways;

Just know Love surrounds you all your days.
