Tuesday's Trust - Trust Him in the Darkness

The people in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.

Tuesday's Trust

Trust Him in the Darkness

These past few days, we both have hit tilt...at the same time...wrenching pain and tears...missing our baby girl... Things began to look very stark, wondering when-if-ever we will begin to "move forward" with our lives. God is showing me that is not mine to know...I must focus on Him in the here-and-now, and He will take care of the rest. He is showing me I must not serve Him with a reserve...(What about this? What about that?)

Oswald Chambers describes it well...essentially, I am not "to proclaim the Gospel merely," but to "become broken bread and poured out wine in the hands of Jesus Christ for other lives."

And I am sure that is not always a pretty sight...in the world's eyes (or mine) anyway...

So, today I wrote myself a poem, to remind me, No Matter What, I can trust God ~ He will meet me in whatever circumstances, and I can rest in Him...and trust...

And tonight, I wanted to share my poem with you.

Trust Him in the Darkness

Trust Him in the darkness,

He is made of light;

Even in grief's starkness,

He can light death's night.

Trust Him in the shadows,

Things that make you fear;

He can e'en combat those

By His drawing near.

Trust Him in life's leanness,

For there you, He'll meet;

Even midst your weakness,

He makes life complete.

Trust Him in the dark days

When your world seems bleak;

He promises always,

He will help the weak.

Trust Him midst keening cries

When your heart is torn;

He refutes Satan's lies:

"Blessed are those who mourn!"

For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts...

~ 2 Corinthians 4:6

"...The people in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."

~ Matthew 4:14-16, (Isaiah 9:1-2) Jesus (came)...to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah

Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains!

For the Lord comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.

~ Isaiah 49:13

In all their distress He too was distressed,

and the angel of His presence saved them.

In His love and mercy He redeemed them;

He lifted them up and carried them...

~ Isaiah 63:9

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Matthew 5:4 (Jesus speaking)
