Something on my heart does prey
Even in my joyful day
Celebrating happily
Watching my son in his play...
Someone leans over: "Is your son...
your only one?"
I hear me say,
"No! That's his brother down th' way,
And...my daughter was killed
four years ago,"
it spilled....
Spirit plummeting to the ground,
E'en with all these people 'round...
Heartsick on Mother's Day
Enjoying my son in his play,
Laughing with my other son,
Thankful to be with my children,
All while grieving my little one...
Heartsick on Mother's Day;
Guess it'll always be this way...
Till God and she come back one Day...
And God wipes all our tears away,
I'll be...
